COLLEGE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
The office of the College Development Council (CDC), Adikavi Nannaya University has been established in the year 2012 for providing coordination between University and the University colleges and the affiliated colleges under the jurisdiction of Adikavi Nannaya University (i.e., East and west Godavari Districts of A.P.) and UGC-New Delhi and APSCHE/NCTE, as the case, may be. The affiliated colleges existing outside the campus of Adikavi Nannaya University are providing courses in accordance with regulations prescribed by statues, ordinance or regulations of Adikavi Nannaya University/ Government of Andhra Pradesh. A substantial number of the student population receives education through these colleges.
The establishment of CDC has provided more active and willing participation of various academic and administrative activities due to its easy access at hands length distance. This step has gained a fruitful movement for improvement of standards of higher education in this region. The main function of CDC is to serve as an academic guide to the college system on the one hand and on the other to ensure interaction between academic faculties in the university departments and teachers in the colleges. The CDC conducts meetings with the Principals of affiliated colleges to appraise them and elicit suggestions with regard to the functioning of the CDC. It also consults different bodies of the university of the promotion, coordination and raising the standards of education in colleges. It also acts as a regulatory body in regard to proper planning and integrated development of colleges and furnish such information to the UGC and other bodies; advice the university on all matters relating to development of affiliated colleges, such as provision of adequate facilities – academic and physical – for raising the standard of learning, teaching and research and its periodic evaluation for enabling the university to maintain reasonable continuity of policy in regard to development of colleges.
